Hi Member,

What a month! We’ve been busy between hosting events (more on that below) and the full swing of industry conference season. It was great to see so many Clean Fuels Michigan members and partners at the ACT Expo in Anaheim, the MI Healthy Climate Conference in Detroit, the Vehicle Technology Meetings in Pontiac, and Detroit Moves.

I’m energized by a month full of in-person conversations. It’s striking to see the contrast between the alarmist headlines and the enthusiasm and optimism I witnessed firsthand. I believe in the latter: the clean mobility industry continues to innovate and will succeed over the long term. I’m excited to play a small part in it.

Mobility Insiders Networking Dinner

Last week, Clean Fuels Michigan hosted our inaugural Policy Insiders Networking Dinner. The dinner provided an intimate forum for clean mobility stakeholders to meet with state agency leadership. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Lobby Day 2025

Clean Fuels Michigan members gathered in Lansing to meet with Legislators for our annual Lobby Day. Members met with 13 Michigan House and Senate legislators and discussed opportunities to support Michigan's transition to clean mobility. Thank you to the members who joined us for this impactful day!

Clean Fuels Michigan Supports Public Convening and Square One Challenge

On May 7th, Clean Fuels Michigan and Michigan EIBC held a "Public Convening to Discuss Fleet Electrification" at Bollinger Motors in Oak Park. Participants heard from Jim Connelly of Bollinger Motors, keynote speaker Tony Geara of the City of Detroit, and panelists who discussed fleet electrification gaps and opportunities. The event concluded with the chance to test drive the all-electric Class 4 Bollinger truck assembled in Michigan.

Square One Education Network's Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge

The next day, the Clean Fuels Michigan team volunteered with Square One to support nearly 500 Michigan students who were there to showcase creative engineering skills with Full-Scale, Autonomous, and Mini RC vehicle designs. Our team had the pleasure of evaluating 60-second "Perfect Pitches" for Autonomous Vehicle teams, and challenging STEAM-focused middle and high school students to consider clean mobility careers with our online survey and Post-it note exercise.
