A new year brings a fresh opportunity to reset, refocus, and strengthen our work together. In 2026, we are refreshing our membership benefits and engagement opportunities to bring members more directly into Clean Fuels Michigan’s programming and priorities.
This year, we are focused on introducing Competitive Fuels legislation, expanding our engagement with candidates and students, and deepening partnerships with stakeholders across the mobility ecosystem, including fellow associations and our members. These efforts are grounded in a simple goal: reducing barriers and creating practical pathways for clean fuels and advanced mobility to succeed in Michigan.
Our 2026 event calendar is listed below. We hope you will save the dates and plan to join us throughout the year as we move this work forward together.
Sincerely,
THIS MONTH'S MOVEMENT
In 2025, we doubled down on pragmatic leadership, bipartisan collaboration, and strategic engagement to advance clean mobility in the state. Our 2025 Annual Report captures how focused efforts delivered results, even amid a rapidly shifting transportation landscape.
Highlights from the year include:
New clean mobility guides and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across Michigan.
Expanded communication and member engagement wins, helping amplify our work and build stronger networks.
Policy progress and funding updates that reflect growing bipartisan support for forward-looking energy and transportation solutions.
It’s important to recognize that electrification is not a single path. Battery electric vehicles, extended range electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and traditional hybrids each play a role in addressing real-world challenges such as charging availability, range confidence, affordability, and workforce readiness.
In a recent blog, Chase explores how these technologies work together as complementary solutions rather than competitors. The piece highlights how EREVs can serve as a practical bridge where charging infrastructure is still developing, how hybrids and plug-in hybrids help maintain momentum as BEVs scale, and what this layered approach means for smart policy and investment decisions in Michigan.
At the last Clean Fuels Michigan Summit, Sarah Hubbard underscored an important truth: while bipartisan solutions may take longer to achieve, they provide the stability that markets, communities, and investors rely on. That stability has been essential to the growth of Michigan’s clean mobility sector. Predictable incentives have helped unlock private investment in EV manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and clean fuel technologies, strengthening Michigan’s position as a global mobility leader.
Looking ahead to 2026, Michigan has a clear opportunity to continue leading with practical, reliable policies that support economic growth and deliver benefits across the state. In a recent blog, Tracey outlines why Clean Fuels Michigan remains focused on informing decision-makers about smart, bipartisan clean fuel policies that deliver long-term benefits for Michiganders.
An additional $5M has been added for chargers at multifamily housing. Funding is available until funds are exhausted.
