Over the past few weeks, our members have gathered at the Multimodal eMobility Summit on Grosse Ile, compared notes at the MSU Mobility Summit, and rolled up their sleeves in our work groups. Later this month, we’ll bring together the hydrogen community for a ride & drive in Waterford and the EV fleet community for a workshop in Grand Rapids. Each of these events is a collaborative effort and a chance to make the connection that turns into a partnership, a pilot, or a policy win.
Clean Fuels Michigan membership offers access to the people building Michigan’s clean transportation future and a seat at the table where the work gets done. We hear it from members after they’ve met a future customer at a convening or found a collaborator across the table at a work group: the return is in the relationships.
If you’ve been meaning to get more involved, this is the season to do it. Come to an event, join a work group, and bring a colleague. The more we connect, the stronger Michigan’s clean transportation ecosystem becomes.

THIS MONTH'S MOVEMENT
Michigan's Fiscal Year 2027 budget includes several positive investments for the state's mobility sector, including continued funding for the Going PRO Talent Fund, support for the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification, funding for maritime and port activities, and preservation of EGLE's Clean Fuel and Charging Infrastructure Program.
However, the final budget did not include several of Clean Fuels Michigan's priorities, such as additional investments in fleet electrification and EV charging deployment. While the budget reflects continued momentum for innovation, further policy action will be needed to strengthen Michigan's leadership in clean mobility and support long-term industry growth. Multi-Modal eMobility Summit Builds Connections Across Modes
Clean Fuels Michigan was proud to participate in the Multi-Modal eMobility Summit at Grosse Ile Municipal Airport, where stakeholders from across Michigan’s electrification ecosystem gathered to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and explore the future of clean mobility.
The unique venue provided an ideal setting for leaders from aviation, automotive, charging infrastructure, energy, maritime, and other sectors to connect and share perspectives. The Summit reflected Clean Fuels Michigan’s mission to connect industry leaders, educate policymakers, and advance practical clean mobility solutions. Conversations like these help expand access to affordable, reliable transportation while strengthening Michigan’s leadership in the mobility sector.
Clean Fuels Michigan and the Michigan Clean Fuels Institute have launched the Workforce Development Hub, a new online resource designed to support Michigan's growing clean mobility workforce by bringing together valuable resources in one convenient location.
Explore Clean Fuels Michigan reports, informational videos, K-12 educational materials, technical training and upskilling opportunities, and a clean mobility jobs board to help prepare and connect the next generation of talent.
As Michigan continues to lead in transportation innovation, developing a skilled workforce is essential to sustaining the state's competitive advantage. We encourage you to explore the Hub and share it with colleagues, educators, workforce organizations, and anyone interested in clean mobility careers.
Join us at Hoekstra Transportation in Grand Rapids on September 1 for a public convening workshop to learn more about funding opportunities available to public and private fleet operators to support fleet electrification. The event will feature industry experts and key state stakeholders to discuss how to stack available funding, coordinate with advisory services, and choose the right vehicles and charging to meet your needs. Speakers include:
EGLE's Fuel Transformation Program supports the replacement of diesel-powered equipment and transportation, with some projects eligible for up to 100% funding. Total expected funding is ~$28 million, with individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $5 million. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all funding has been awarded.
Michigan fleet owners can apply for rebates to purchase new propane vehicles or convert existing vehicles to propane this year. Funding is available until funds are exhausted or until Dec 31.
