Hi Tracey,

It’s been another dynamic month across Michigan’s clean mobility landscape. As with any major technology transition, progress is rarely linear. There are ebbs and flows in adoption, and moments where things appear to slow. But those moments are not setbacks. They are opportunities to realign, improve efficiencies, and take a thoughtful pulse on how the transition is unfolding.

In clean mobility, these periods also give us space to catch up. Whether it is policy development, infrastructure deployment, or market readiness, a brief slowdown can help ensure the foundation is strong enough to support long-term growth. Progress is not just about speed. It is about sustainability and staying power.

Like me, you may have noticed an influx of out-of-office replies over the past couple of weeks. This is a helpful reminder that, like our industry, people also need time to pause, recharge, and refocus on the goals ahead.

As we move into spring, we look forward to reconnecting and building momentum together. We have several exciting opportunities ahead, including our Clean Mobility 411 webinar with Paired Power in May, our Hydrogen Action Forum at Noble Gas Systems in June, and the Multi-Modal eMobility Summit at the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport in July. I hope you will join us as we continue to advance practical long-term solutions, meaningful partnerships, and informed conversations across Michigan.

Powering Conversations That Move Michigan Forward

On March 31, Chase joined another panel at an electric transportation workshop hosted by Forth Mobility in East Lansing. The event explored how state and local transportation agencies can partner with stakeholders to design and deliver comprehensive, inclusive electric transportation solutions.  Chase highlighted current and upcoming funding opportunities that will help expand EV infrastructure across Michigan.

FUNDING ALERTS

• Michigan Supplier Conversion Grant

  The Michigan Supplier Conversion Grant Program allocated $22.6 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to small- and medium-sized automotive manufacturers to retool their facilities to enter qualified vehicle supply chains.  Applications are due Apr 9.
  
  

• Maritime Innovation Grant

  The Michigan Maritime Strategy is a first-of-its-kind 10-year plan to drive economic growth, attract investment, foster innovation, and create good-paying jobs across Michigan’s maritime industry while protecting the Great Lakes.  To support its implementation, the OFME Maritime Innovation Grant will fund projects that advance one or more strategic objectives.  Register for the information session on Apr 10.  Applications are due May 8.
  
  

• Clean Fuel and Charging Infrastructure Program

  There is $10 million available for public charging, and an additional $5M has been added for chargers at multifamily housing. Funding is available until it is exhausted.
  
  

• MPGA Propane Vehicle Rebates

  Michigan fleet owners can apply for rebates to purchase new propane vehicles or to convert existing vehicles to propane in 2026.  Funding is available until funds are exhausted or until Dec 31.
